Family Day 2018

Looking for some great indoor and outdoor activities for this Family Day weekend?! We have some great suggestions for you!

Winterlude officially ends on Feb 19th so why not check it out this weekend? You can see amazing ice sculptures, grab a beaver tail or go to the Snowflake Kingdom, it’s fun for the whole family!

The Bytown Museum puts on an amazing display of ice carving each year. Each artists starts off with a block of ice and watch them turn it into a masterpiece! While there, head into the museum for some hot chocolate or hot apple cider and see some Ottawa History!

The Museum of Science and Technology┬áis putting on an amazing exhibition this Saturday called Cool Science Saturday. There will be demonstrations, experiments, work shops and cold weather exploration! Don’t forget to check out the rest of the museum while there, the doors re-opened in November after 3 years of renovations!

The Agriculture Museum is having Family Day On The Farm! There are so many activities from learning how to make a bird feeder, make butter and also meet the farm animals! The museum rink is also open so consider bringing your skates with you!

Mount Pakenham is perfect for a long weekend activity! Tubing is so much fun for the whole family. The slope is well maintained, family friends and perfect for kids of all ages! Grab some lunch in the lodge or bring your own and warm up around the fire pit!

Fulton’s Pancake House and Sugar Bush is the perfect Sunday morning breakfast fun! Try their well know pancakes and their famous maple syrup. Take advantage of the fresh air and take a walk on their numerous walking trails. If it’s a bit too cold, there is a maple syrup museum that is worth the visit!

Don’t forget that the Canal is open to! Lace up your skates and take a trip down the world’s largest skating rink! Stop by the numerous beaver tail huts to grab a treat and a hot drink!
